The New York Giants sensational rookie running back Saquon Barkley has done it again. The record-setting former Penn State star who was named the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year continued to garners laurels for his exploits by winning Best Breakthrough Athlete honors at the ESPY Awards handed out every year by ESPN.
Barkley was up against Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young, tennis sensation Naomi Osaka and the 2018 National League MVP – Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich.
Barkley, the second overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, rushed for 1,307 yards as a rookie and caught an NFL record 91 passes f0r 721 yards while scoring 15 total touchdowns.
