The New York Giants Thursday announced a switch in rookie linebackers on their 90-man roster, replacing Ryan Jones with Tony Johnson.
Johnson, 6-2 and 255 pounds, played two seasons at Louisiana Tech after transferring from Southwest Mississippi Community College. He played 24 games for the Bulldogs and was credited with 92 tackles (52 solo), 2.5 sacks, seven tackles for losses, an interception and a fumble recovery.
As a senior in 2014, Johnson played in 12 games and finished third on the team with 69 tackles (42 solo) and 2.
