Alonzo Russell has been here before. After three years in the NFL, while never making a 53-man roster out of camp once, the wide-receiver finally appears to have a solid shot at making the cut. With the New York Giants severely lacking a big-bodied outside receiver, Russell deserves heavy consideration to be an important piece on this team.
The former Toledo standout has been snipped on cut day twice before, but after such an impressive showing in the preseason finale, Coach Pat Shurmur has to recognize what he can bring to this squad. At 6’4, Russell could prove to be the red zone threat that Eli Manning is currently lacking.
