When the New York Giants signed Rhett Ellison in free agency, the expectation was that they had finally found their fullback – a position they played the 2016 season without.
But after head coach Ben McAdoo met the media at the league meetings on Tuesday, we got a better understanding of what Ellison’s role might be moving forward.
As stated in an article by ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, McAdoo uttered that Ellison is a “tight end who has fullback qualities to him.”
Over the course of his five-year NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings, Ellison caught just 51 combined passes.
