The New York Giants have made a slight change their active roster this week. Running back Orleans Darkwa as placed on the team’s injured reserve, while safety Eric Pinkins was brought up from the practice squad.
Darkwa’s placement on IR comes as a result of a nagging lower leg soreness, stemming from a fracture in his tibia discovered earlier in the spring. The injury marks an end to the third-year veteran’s disappointing 2016 season, one in which he had an opportunity to be a key contributor.
Following injuries to running backs Rashad Jennings and Shane Vereen, Darkwa started for the Giants in two consecutive games against the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers.
