Big Blue’s special teams were awful this past season. They single-handedly cost the New York Giants a win in Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Giants general manager Dave Gettleman has put an emphasis on rebuilding New York’s special teams. The G-Men hired special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey in February and have since made multiple acquisitions through free agency and trades to upgrade the unit.
Big Blue signed special teams ace Michael Thomas to a two-year contract. They also made their punter position a priority.
After moving on from Brad Wing, the Giants acquired punter Riley Dixon through a trade with the Denver Broncos.
