The New York Giants on Tuesday places a pair of players, tight end Larry Donnell and long-snapper Zak DeOssie, on season-ending injured reserve.
The placement of Donnell, who has missed the last four games due to a neck injury, on IR is no surprise. Recent reports indicated he was several weeks away from being ready to play. DeOssie, however, is a surprise. He has a wrist injury that only surfaced recently A fourth-round draft choice in 2007, DeOssie has never missed a game.
The Giants signed free-agent long-snapper Danny Aiken to replace DeOssie, and added cornerback Tramain Jacobs from their practice squad to fill Donnell's spot.
