New York Giants: Pat Shurmur will inherit similar weapons

Before coming to the New York Giants, Shurmur had only one full season as the Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator. It was a remarkable year though. Shurmur was able to lead the Vikings to a top 10 scoring offense and an NFC championship appearance. He did this despite losing his top quarterback and running back.

According to Pro Football Reference, the Vikings ranked 10th in scoring, 11th in passing, 7th in rushing and 8th in scoring percentage. Undoubtedly, his was a top offense – despite playing without its two of its best players.

While Shurmur deserves credit, he could not have achieved such success in Minnesota without some of his outstanding weapons at his disposal.
