The New York Giants brought in veteran cornerback Ross Cockrell for a visit last week, subsequently deciding that he would be a solid addition to the roster. After DeAndre Baker was placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List and Sam Beal opted out for the 2020 season, the Giants were in need of a supplement at the CB2 position.
Cockrell spent time with the Giants back in 2017, starting in nine games and racking up 50 combined tackles, 11 passes defended, and three interceptions. However, the deal between Cockrell and the Giants fell through on Tuesday morning.
