According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, both outside linebacker Olivier Vernon (ankle) and cornerback Eli Apple (groin) sat out of Wednesday’s practice.
Vernon, who injured his ankle during a practice in late-August, hasn’t dressed for either of the team’s first two games.
And his replacement, veteran outside linebacker Connor Barwin, was held out of practice with an ankle injury of his own.
Thus, creating some chaos in James Bettcher’s defense.
As for Apple, he left Sunday’s game vs the Dallas Cowboys with a groin injury which now looks more severe than originally expected.
