The New York Giants have once again been plagued by injuries to some of their more influential players. The latest news regarding cornerback DeAndre Baker could be terrible, but it’s unknown if he will escape a severe injury.
Head coach Pat Shurmur stated that Baker “felt something” in his knee during warmups before Sunday’s practice began. He immediately left practice and was diagnosed with a knee sprain, but will get an MRI on Monday. A sprain essentially means that a ligament in his knee partially tore — we have to pray it wasn’t his ACL.
His MCL or LCL would take far less time to heal, because any tear to his ACL will require surgery to repair the entire tendon, officially ruling him out for the season.
