In praise of Eli
Giants' quarterback Eli Manning, the reigning NFC Offensive Player of the Week, is drawing from a couple of sources who know a thing or two about quarterback play.
"He has a better understanding of the why," Gannon said. "Why is he [McAdoo] calling the play here? What’s he expecting? If he’s expecting blitz and it doesn’t come, then we’ll do this. So, it’s understanding the why that helps the quarterback go through the thought process. That time is valuable for the quarterback and the last year he and Ben were still learning about each other.
