The New York Giants have found the architect for their upcoming rebuild, as they announced the hiring of Dave Gettleman to the general manager position left behind by the fired Jerry Reese on Thursday afternoon.

It marks a homecoming of sorts for Gettleman, who worked in the Giants’ pro personnel department from 1999-2012, serving as the director from 1999-2011, and an analyst in 2012. During his tenure, the Giants earned three NFC Championships and won two of the ensuing Super Bowls in 2008 and 2012.
