New York Giants make investment in Kareem Martin

The New York Giants are reportedly signing the fourth-year linebacker to a three-year, $21 million deal that includes $7.5 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.

The signing reunites Martin with Big Blue’s new defensive coordinator James Bettcher. The two spent the past four seasons together with the Cardinals. Bettcher was Martin’s outside linebackers coach before being promoted to Arizona’s defensive coordinator in 2015.

The 6-foot-6, 265-pound edge rusher started a career-high 10 games in 2017. Giants general manager Dave Gettleman is making a significant investment in the 26-year-old.
