When the New York Giants drafted Daniel Jones with the 6th overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft, nobody imagined him being a rushing quarterback. However, on Sunday afternoon against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week three of the regular season, Jones earned his first start, and he turned some heads with his blazing speed.
He picked up two rushing touchdowns on for carries for 28 yards. The historic win for the Giants and Jones marked the turn of the page and the beginning of a new era. With Eli Manning sitting quietly on the bench watching as the 22-year-old quarterback from Duke carried his team down the field to score in the waning moments of the game, the spotlight finally changed directions.
