New York Giants co-owner and team president John Mara announced Wednesday that interviews for the vacant position would begin next week.
Reports surfaced this weekend that former Carolina Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman had emerged as the frontrunner for the position. Gettleman worked in New York’s pro personnel department for 13 seasons before joining Carolina in 2013.
While Gettleman is reportedly the favorite, the G-Men are “unlikely to name” their next general manager before the end of the season, as they want to interview other candidates currently working for other franchises, according to NFL Network’s Judy Battista.
