Is it possible that the New York Giants have created a position battle at the quarterback position between Eli Manning and Daniel Jones? It’s highly unlikely Jones manages to overtake Eli for the starting job, considering he’s expected to sit quietly and soak up as much knowledge as humanly possible over the course of the next year.
However, head coach Pat Shurmur stated that Eli must win games to keep Jones off the field, so there’s a chance the rookie passer could feature at some point this season.
I believe that the Giants need to stick with logic on this specific decision – allowing Jones to develop and learn how to prepare at the NFL level is essential.
