New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning showed flashes that indicated he still had what it takes to win football games. Ultimately, however, the G-Men fell short in many of those games, attaining a 5-11 this season.
Manning finished the season with some very good statistics, yet he had trouble finding the end zone. Manning passed for 4,299 yards, 21 touchdowns, only 11 interceptions and a very strong 66 percent completion rate. After the season both Manning and general manager Dave Gettleman were non-committal about the future.
Based on other comments it seems that head coach Pat Shurmur was more confident in having Manning here.
