On Saturday, the New York Giants, just like any other NFL team, had to cut down to 53 roster spots. The preseason is officially over and the regular season is upon us, as the opening game (Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears) is this Thursday.
One of the decisions the Giants made involved their backup quarterback spot. They’re obviously going to keep Eli Manning and Daniel Jones, so that left one spot for either Alex Tanney or Kyle Lauletta. Ultimately, head coach Pat Shurmur went with Tanney.
