With the second pick in the second-round, New York Giants first-year general manager Dave Gettleman selected Will Hernandez.
Hernandez was projected to be a first-round pick by multiple draft analysts and was clearly one of the top targets for Big Blue on day two. NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah listed the 6-foot-2, 327-pound guard as the No. 21 overall prospects in this year’s class.
Hernandez will open running lanes for star rookie running back Saquon Barkley and will immediately help in pass protection.
Led by UTEP’s Will Hernandez, these offensive guards had no trouble keeping pressure off their quarterback.
