The New York Football Giants are a storied franchise, not long ago considered to be amongst the gold standards of NFL franchises. Wellington Mara is one of the most respected owners in the history of sports, and for good reason. Ever since his passing, his son, John, has taken over the role as head man in charge. The results have been mixed, as younger Mara enjoyed massive success early on, winning two Super Bowls in his first few years as the primary Mara owner.
However, things have spiraled out of control ever since Tom Coughlin was unceremoniously jettisoned from town, and it’s no secret that Mara’s inability to bring in effective leadership on the ground level has led to many of the tragic results we’ve witnessed over the past several years.
