When he was selected in the fifth-round out of Auburn this year, few expected Darius Slayton to make a huge – if any – impact for the New York Giants in 2019. That has been far from the case, as the rookie speedster has displayed a well-rounded game and developed a solid rapport with fellow youngster Daniel Jones.
After missing the first two games of the season due to injury, Slayton has been Big Blue’s top receiving option for most of the year. Thought to be a big play guy with shaky hands, Slayton has wowed many with his route running and precision, two things that did not stand out in his predraft scouting report.
