A trade between the New York Giants and New York Jets has finally occurred. On Monday, the Jets sent defensive lineman Leonard Williams over to Big Blue for a 2020 third-round pick and a 2021 fifth-round pick. It marks the inaugural trade these crosstown rivals have ever pulled off with one another.
The Jets originally selected Williams in the first round (No. 6 overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. He made the Pro Bowl in his sophomore campaign in 2016 and was a team captain at one point. But is the Jets’ decision to part ways with him truly that surprising?
