New York Giants: Davis Webb’s future remains in limbo

The New York Giants rookie quarterback took no snaps during the regular season and wasn’t active until the team’s regular season finale.

Giants newly appointed general manager Dave Gettleman and new head coach Pat Shurmur have both said Eli Manning will retain the starting job in 2018. But the two have given no assurances to Webb in regards to his future with the franchise.

The Giants hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft after posting a 3-13 record in 2017.

Gettleman has said he plans to use the selection on the “best player available,” but was not willing to endorse Webb as Manning’s eventual successor when speaking at the Senior Bowl last month, via New York’s team website.
