According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, New York Giants rookie quarterback Davis Webb will likely spend his entire rookie season inactive.
Webb, who the Giants selected in the third round of the NFL Draft last week, is expected to be the quarterback of the future for New York.
But the Giants have no plans on rushing his development, with Eli Manning still under center for at least the next two seasons.
Instead, either Geno Smith or Josh Johnson will serve as the team’s backup in 2017, with the thought of using Webb’s potential active roster spot on another area of the team during gameday.
