New York Giants: David Blough performance latest indictment on Pat Shurmur

We’ve heard all the excuses over the better part of the last two years since Pat Shurmur took over as the head coach of the New York Giants. The offensive lines no good. The weapons are injured. Eli Manning just doesn’t have anything left. He’s got a rookie quarterback.

Yet, it was hard not to watch yesterday’s game between the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears and realize just how silly those excuses are, when Lions coaches Matt Patricia and Darrell Bevell were able to make a very productive quarterback of an undrafted rookie who had never taken an NFL snap, against the same team Shurmur struggled to scheme an effective gameplan for the week before.
