According to Dan Duggan of The Athletic, he wouldn’t be surprised if the team placed veteran players on Injured Reserve in order to call players up from the practice squad.
Duggan lists linebacker Alec Ogletree (back), tight end Rhett Ellison (concussion), and offensive tackle Mike Remmers (concussion) as players who could be placed on IR.
Players like defensive back Derek Baity or wide receiver Alex Bachman could be guys who get the call up for Sunday’s game vs the Philadelphia Eagles.
Rookie seventh-round pick Chris Slayton is also on the practice squad and he has yet to appear in an NFL game this season.
