New York Giants come together in 30-17 victory over Lions

Even though it’s preseason, the New York Giants had a lot prove. Last week, the team played uninspired and sloppy football in a 20-10 home loss to the Cleveland Browns. Several players were highlighted as needing improvement, no one more than second-year quarterback Davis Webb.

While Webb and the offense will steal this week’s headlines, Big Blue’s defense also came alive. The unit stymied the potentially potent Detroit Lions offense with a consistent pass rush. In addition, the Big Blue Wrecking Crew held Detroit to 3.0 yards per carry in the running game. Together, the offense and defense came alive in a not-as-close 30-17 win against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.
