Bug Blue didn’t receive the greatest news on Monday regarding their starting rookie inside linebacker Ryan Connelly. The New York Giants first-year pro has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will be out for the rest of the season. Connelly suffered the injury in the midst of the team’s 24-3 win over the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
Thus, New York has placed Connelly on season-ending injured reserve. In addition, the team has claimed defensive end Chris Peace off waivers, per Dan Salomone of the team’s official website.
