Jon Halapio entered last season as the starting center for the New York Giants. However, his 2018 campaign quickly ended when he went down in a Week 2 loss against the Dallas Cowboys. Halapio suffered a broken right ankle and lower leg. Veteran Spencer Pulley then started much of the rest of the season at the center position.
The Giants re-signed Halapio this offseason, along with re-signing Pulley as well. Ultimately, Halapio won back the starting job and is more than thankful for the opportunity he was given.
“I’m just tremendously grateful [general manager Dave] Gettleman and [coach Pat] Shurmur and [offensive line coach Hal] Hunter, they believe in me, sticking me right back in there,” Halapio said, per Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.
