The New York Giants 53-man roster is set. Head coach Pat Shurmur and the rest of the coaching staff cut the roster from 90 to 53 on Saturday afternoon.
The Giants made some surprising moves such as cutting defensive linemen Robert Thomas and A.J. Francis.
Another surprising move was the Giants deciding to cut running backs Jalen Simmons and Jhurell Pressley. Both Simmons and Pressley enjoyed impressive preseason outings.
The Giants also parted ways with linebacker Mark Herzlich who had been with the team since 2011. With the departure of Herzlich, only Eli Manning and Zak DeOssie are the only members remaining from the Super Bowl 46 championship team.
