New Giant: My son helped me become a professional

Cody Latimer readily admits it. A few years ago, he wasn’t ready to be a professional. The former second-round pick was, in his own words, “young, dumb, hard-headed.”

That changed prior to last season — the best season of his still young career. Latimer was forced to grow up.

“My son — that’s what did it, when I had him,” the 25-year-old receiver said of 2-year-old Jacolby. “I got to do it for him. You don’t want [him] to see his dad be a failure. He made me focus on life and see it from a different perspective.
