Nate Solder opens up about opting out of 2020 NFL season

New York Giants’ offensive lineman Nate Solder indicated during the regular season that he’s thinking about retiring after opting out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Solder opened about how he felt like he was letting his teammates down by not playing even though he had a good reason with his son battling cancer and himself being a cancer survivor.

“In a lot of ways, I felt like I was letting my teammates down,” Solder said. “I felt like I was letting the new coaching staff down.
