Does anybody even want to win the NFC East? Oh my, it’s just so bad.
“It’s the mud-wrestling division,” former Giants linebacker Carl Banks said Tuesday. “This is your NFC East. Nobody wants to get out.”
The NFC East is as competitive as ever, but the best division in the Super Bowl era is now an embarrassment.
The good: It’s the only division with a three-way tie for first place and with all four teams within one game of first. The bad: It’s the only division that doesn’t have one team playing .500.
If you’ve been away for the last 30 years, you would think there’s no way this is same place that had the four best coaches to ever coach in one division: Hall of Famers Tom Landry, Bill Parcells and Joe Gibbs, plus the fourth coach, Buddy Ryan, who no doubt feels he should be in Canton.
