It turns out all the Giants needed was to spend three hours on a nice fall evening with the awful football team from Washington to put an end to their annual early season miseries.
Eli Manning didn’t have another fourth quarter meltdown. The defense didn’t blow a third straight 10-point lead in the fourth quarter. And the Giants finally found a team more prone to self-destruction to get their first victory of the season.
“I felt bad for the first two games,” Manning said. “We were right there. We could have easily won. Had leads in the fourth quarter and did not hold onto those and not be at our best in the final minutes of a game is frustrating.
