Mike Francesa's recent announcement that he's leaving WFAN in 2017 apparently has become big news all the way across the Atlantic in Ireland.
That's right, Ireland.
The Irish Times, which has been around since the 1850s, did a 900-word piece on the New York sports talk legend that was published Wednesday, and it definitely wasn't flattering.
Author Dave Hannigan seems to paint a pretty accurate picture of Francesa in a post that's titled, "America At Large: Sports Pope/Dope — a mix of Dunphy, Clarkson and Partridge."
This wasn't a total bashing, but Hannigan certainly took plenty of shots.
