EAST RUTHERFORD — Alex Tanney spent exactly three days unemployed this offseason.
While other quarterbacks with dozens of career starts and even some with Pro Bowls on their resume remain unsigned, Tanney was scooped up by the Giants almost immediately after he cleared waivers.
Why was Tanney so desirable? Because the Giants have a unique quarterback room where Tanney's experience as the ultimate NFL journeyman is a benefit to two youngsters who have never taken a regular-season snap: 2017 third-round draft pick Davis Webb and rookie fourth-round pick Kyle Lauletta.
