The New York Giants’ pursuit of Los Angeles Rams’ veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford has gone from something that seemed like an unrealistic fantasy a couple of weeks ago to a front-burner topic in the NFL world that now seems like a real possibility.
The Giants and Las Vegas Raiders have emerged as the primary contenders, with uncertainty continuing to surround whether or not the Rams would actually trade the 37-year-old Stafford rather than sign him to a new contract.
The Giants, of course, need a quarterback. GM Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll also need to win some games in 2025 to have a chance to keep their jobs beyond the upcoming season.
