Martin Mayhew: 5 things we didn't know about Giants' new front office

The Giants hired former Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew as their director of football operations/special projects on Thursday. He'll work with assistant general manager Kevin Abrams on contracts, CBA compliance and salary cap while also handling special projects as assigned by general manager Jerry Reese.

It sounds as if Mayhew is their new Matt Harriss, who was recently hired by the Lions. Turns out to be a straight-up trade.
