The Giants were concerned about Jon Beason being able to finish the upcoming regular season healthy. Now it seems the linebacker may not even be able to start it.
Beason left Saturday night's preseason game against the Jaguars in the first quarter with what the team called a sprained left knee. He spent the remainder of the first half on the bench with the knee heavily packed in ice.
Beason has not played a 16-game season since 2010.
It was unclear when Beason suffered the injury, but he was involved in several plays early in the game.
