New England Patriots’ head coach and former New York Giants’ defensive coordinator Bill Belichick has praised Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor in the past by referring to him as “the greatest defensive football player in the history of the game” after coaching him early on in his career.
It turns out though that LT wasn’t crazy about former Giants’ head coach Bill Parcells promoting Belichick to defensive coordinator back in the day.
“The next year, he’s special teams coach, and then the third year, (Bill) Parcells becomes the head coach and he makes … Belichick the defensive coordinator,” he said during an appearance on The Boardroom: Out of Office via Jordan Cohn of Radio.
