Late Giants safety Tyler Sash found to have advanced CTE

Former Giants safety Tyler Sash, who died of an accidental overdose of pain medication in September at the age of 27, was found to have chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) according to Boston University and the Concussion Legacy Foundation, the New York Times is reporting.

The brain disease "had advanced to a stage rarely seen in someone his age" according to the report.

Sash was a member of the Giants team that beat the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. He was cut by Big Blue in 2013 after suffering multiple concussions.
