The New York Giants haven’t made it official yet, but it appears that two-time Pro Bowl safety Landon Collins is headed for season-ending shoulder surgery.
Giants coach Pat Shurmur said Wednesday the situation with Collins is “fluid,” refusing to confirm a report that but that season-ending shoulder surgery has already been decided upon. He did, however say surgery is “most likely.”
If Collins, 24, needs surgery, the possibility exists that not only will his season be over but perhaps his Giants’ career as well.
The team’s 2015 second-round pick can be a free agent at the end of the season.
