Since his draft day, Landon Collins has envisioned himself as a career member of the Giants.
Not getting moved at the NFL trade deadline last week was Step One towards achieving that goal. Step Two — securing a long-term contract — hasn't gotten off the ground yet, however.
"We'll see," Collins told NJ Advance Media if he expects to be here for a long time. "We've still got to through negotiations and stuff. We haven't even started that yet. We have to see how it goes."
General manager Dave Gettleman's policy is to not discuss the ebbs and flows of contract negotiations, but the Giants signaled an intention to make a run at keeping their 24-year-old safety when they did not trade Collins for a draft pick.
