ESPN draft analysts Mel Kiper and Field Yates have combined for a three-round mock draft in which they alternated selections. The New York Giants end up with a wide receiver at No. 6 in Round 1 and a quarterback via trade in Round 2. Let’s see how it played out.
Round 1 (No. 6) — Malik Nabers, WR, LSU
Yates made this pick after Kiper engineered a trade at No. 5 allowing the Minnesota Vikings to move up and select J.J. McCarthy, the fourth quarterback off the board.
Yates writes:
A trade up was contemplated, but a prohibitive price made such a move less appealing, and Nabers’ explosive traits would be such a welcome addition to the Giants’ offense.
