In case you were thinking that veteran offensive tackle King Dunlap would be nice depth for the New York Giants, perhaps a swing tackle who could compete with and perhaps mentor Ereck Flowers and Bobby Hart, you can forget that idea. Dunlap is retiring from the NFL after eight seasons.
It has become increasingly apparent that the Giants are intent on entering the season with Flowers at left tackle and Hart at right tackle, despite the duo’s struggles in 2016. D.J. Fluker, signed as a free agent, has worked exclusively at guard with the Giants seeming to plan only on having him take some “just in case” reps eventually at tackle.
