Back in 2007, the New York Giants had a great group of wide receivers as they won their first Super Bowl since the 1990 season. They had guys like Plaxico Burress, Amani Toomer and a rookie in Steve Smith that came up huge in so many situations.
“Steve Smith made all the difference in the world for us. Everyone thinks it was Plax, who was a terrific player and helped us immensely, but Steve Smith was the missing piece,” Gilbride told Ed Valentine of Big Blue View.
“When Steve came we had Plaxico outside, Steve inside and that’s when we went on to win the Super Bowl.
