JPP to return to Giants as 1st of many dominoes will fall

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The expectation around the Giants for weeks was that Jason Pierre-Paul would not show his face, or his damaged right hand, around the team facility until after the preseason.

That remains the expectation, with the Giants finishing up their preseason Thursday night against the Patriots. Pierre-Paul’s camp has informed the Giants that he will finally leave Florida and return to the team next week. But once he arrives, that does not mean he will quickly sign his franchise tender of $14.8 million and thrust himself into football activities.

His arrival, likely sometime next week, will trigger a series of events that will determine how much ill will exists between the player and the team.
