Josh Johnson Could Be First Black Quarterback In New York Giants History To Start a Game

This would be something.

If somehow Eli Manning doesn’t start this Sunday vs. the Washington Redskins, backup quarterback Josh Johnson would be the first black quarterback to start a game in New York Giants history.

Johnson has been well traveled, spending time with nine other NFL teams.

He was once Jim Harbaugh’s quarterback at the University of San Diego.

Manning admitted on Monday that he wants to play, but there has yet to be confirmation on whether or not he will.

New York is the only NFL franchise to have not started a black quarterback at some point in their history.
