The NFL repeatedly has complained its attempts to investigate the Josh Brown domestic violence allegations were stonewalled by the Washington sheriff’s office handling the case and was shocked — shocked — to find the disturbing admissions in Brown’s journals and correspondence released this week.
Well, Sheriff John Urquhart of the King County Sheriff’s Office has pushed back forcefully against that narrative, blaming the NFL for running a shoddy investigation and using bully tactics to blame cops for Roger Goodell and Co.’s embarrassing ignorance.
Urquhart said the first contact following Brown’s arrest in May 2015 came from a “goofus” named Robert Agnew, using a generic Comcast email address and listing a post office box in the sleepy suburb of Woodinville as his address.
